Russia’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the 16th announcing that in response to Canada’s sanctions against Russia, Moscow has decided to bar 103 Canadian citizens from entering Russian territory.

The statement pointed out that in retaliation for sweeping sanctions imposed by the Canadian government on Russia, Russia will impose permanent entry bans on the 103 Canadian nationals. These individuals, notably figures affiliated with Canada’s parliament, have engaged in campaigns to discredit Russia’s political system and foreign policy, and pushed for the unlawful seizure of Russia’s sovereign state assets.
